What's Involved
A new link from Five arches to Somervale Road(A362), with a new Toucan Crossing.
- A new link from Somervale Road back to the railway line.
- New path on the old Somerset and Dorset Railway from Somervale Road to Midsomer Norton.
- Junction at the Pit Path to connect with Westfield and the High Street, continuation to Norton Hill.
- Connection with Norton Hill School and Silver Street.
It would allow schools, communities and work places to make use of the unique heritage to travel in a safe and sustainable way.
We are working with other community groups such as Norton Hill School, the Somerset & Dorset Railway Heritage Trust, Friends of the Earth, the Chamber of Commerce, etc., in order that maximum benefit can be gained for the community as a whole.
The aim is to built an accessible good quality path for shared use by cyclists, walkers and possibly horse riders, attractive landscaping and tree planting. An Art Programme will be part of the project.
